I'm sure he had live in help in recent years, particularly after losing his wife in 2004, and no doubt lots of visits from family. Logistically it would make sense to keep him closer to the COB and Temple Square, for lots of reasons.

with Internet and teleconferencing he wouldn't have to leave his bed. He could stay in a robe and slippers all day and play games with the family dog.
