The sister missionary I got today in chat was as mislead as they come.
When I got her down to the papyrus discussion, she said that the modern translations do match, EXACTLY, with the Book of Abraham. She said she had always been taught this!
Pity her when I sent her links to BYU and even the ensign that knocked that lie outta the park.
After she realized her folly, she said it did not matter as she prayed about it all.
She then told me I just needed to pray to god to find out if the Book of Abraham was true.
"WHY?", I asked, "the evidence has already answered me"
"Only god know why they don't match", she insisted, "Just ask god if Joseph Smith was a prophet and if the Book of Abraham AND Book of Mormon are true"
"What if he tells me that they are false", I differed.
"I know he will not", she replied.
What fools over there.

This reminds me of the TBM that I flew next to on my way from Las Vegas to SLC.
She testified that they were finding evidences left and right in South America as PROOF that the Book of Mormon is true!!
Where do these people hear these things.
Again, any Faith-Promoting Rumor will be taken as gospel truth with nothing more than a say so, but tell them that Joseph Smith has sex with other mens wives, well, that just COULDN'T be true.

There are folks right here on this board who believe that daily proof for the Book of Mormon is being turned up in South America. I wish they would share all this proof with the rest of us.

The proof is imaginary. They were unable to find proof and so instead decided to imagine it. Their psychiatrist suggested it, and they by and large have found it very rewarding.
