Art and decoration in the temple--and the body?

While I understand that art in the temple needs to fit the atmosphere of the temple, I also feel a uncomfortable or even bored at the whilte-out experience I have in the many temple rooms. I'm grateful for chandeliers which give some needed color. One of my personal favorites is that of the Idaho Falls temple celestial room because it his a nice mural in it with color, scenery, and people. It gives variety and color to an otherwise white-out experience. I think it'd be neat if inside the celestial room we could look at something like the murals in the Sistine chapel.

I'm also curious about Blixa's opinion. Would there be any modern / abstract art that might fit with the spehere of the temple that might help with the temple experience?

Celectial Rooms

This should perhaps be another topic, but given that some celestial rooms have murals on them, why can't I put a mural on the temple of my body? I was always told that I shouldn't put grafitti on the temple and therefore shouldn't get a tattoo. Couldn't a tattoo be more like a mural than grafitti? I don't think I'd look good with a tattoo--I just wonder why God hates tattoos (or so I'm told).

I'm under the impression that God (pretending that I believe in God for a moment here:) doesn't care that much with tattoos. I think some older men in SLC apparently care about them 'though. :)

I mean, why would God care? Why? It seems so absurd that God would care about what a person does to adorn their bodies... I think He would have more pressing concerns!
