A random Bachman connection

Post by _Bryan Inks »

I work at a webhosting company in Utah county.

Sometimes, while in the course of helping out some nitwit figure out why his website doesn't work despite the fact that he hasn't uploaded anything to the server, I get the opportunity to peruse some of their files and when I find something that violates our Terms of Service, I get to shut down their account.

This random guy on our servers, from Pakistan, was one such person.

I got to shut his site down because he had 1 single mp3 file on his account. It just happened to be She's so High.

Random I know, but it's better than ranting about the 18GB of child porn I found on someone else's account last night.

I get email requests off the MC all the time asking me to forward their messages to him, Steve, Bob, etc, etc. So I forwarded one last Saturday and got a nice thank-you from Tal. Then later that day I'm coming home from the store and hear his song - probably first time I've heard it this year.

Made me smile.

I hope they get sodomized nightly with a very large broom handle.

Just curious ... how do you know that his mp3 wasn't his own copy of a cd that he'd ripped? (Unlikely, I know.)

Also, I hope that you reported the child porn guy to the cops.

To the first, it doesn't matter if he legally owns the CD, we don't allow any copyrighted materials on our servers. Even if it's in a password-protected area hidden 300 directories deep (which is similar to the setup that child-porn guy was using).

Second, yeah. I sent it to our Abuse department, my boss contacted the local police because it is someone in state and the FBI (I think it was the FBI).

I also started thinking about who I know in the Moab area that wouldn't mind ripping someone's nuts off and maybe burying someone out in the desert.

Ah, I gotcha.

No kidding. Sometimes the appeal of vigilantism is strong, isn't it?

Ah, yes. The doctrine of 'nut atonement' is a strong and powerful testimony. Almost happened to Joseph Smith.
