That's right. It's something that must be accounted for if the Fall occured only a few thousands or tens of thousands of years ago.
The answer is that God created physical bodies (homo sapiens) via evolution. These had to have spirits in them since they were living creatures, but they can not be literal spirit children of God else the "first man" statement is violated.
When the time was right, homo sapiens were born that had spirit children of God within and placed into the Garden.
