Part I

My Shady acres friends:

I can think of no better place than this message board to first post a link to my website. My close friend and partner have been working furiously trying to get the website up in time for both the ex-Mormon conference and the 17th annual Scarecrow festival. I thought about posting some of my personal experiences, and I still might, but for now I'll just let the website speak for itself and engage in dialogue here. My stories, which Trump anything posted to the website by far, will be in the movie and book. I will say a few things about the "Mormon Gulag" - and then answer any questions or elaborate on anything anyone is curious about:

I have never gotten my ass beat as bad as I did while I was there. I've taken a beating or two in my day, but I was punched in the face, tackled, kicked, slammed on the ground and into walls, and more. That being said, I didn't get it nearly as bad as some other kids there. I was well liked there, and still got the crap kicked out of me on a regular basis.

I do not exaggerate the LDS connection with this place in the least bit. In fact, it probably goes a lot deeper than I even realize.

To be fair, I don't think that any good hearted member of the LDS church would endorse this vile facility if they knew what was actually going on.

Saturday, October 18th I will be in Lehi, Utah at the Scarecrow Festival filming a protest that has been planned. I really encourage you to go and check it out and talk to some of the boys that experienced what I did.


Now, I have been known to be a "cocky punk" on this board, a "stupid kid" that has an axe to grind with Mormonism. While all of that may be true, I am absolutely serious about this place. It is awful, disgusting, and simply un-American. It is abusive, shady, and makes the Mormon church look plain evil. I hate this place because of what it does and what it stands for, not because it is associated with the LDSism.

Later on this week I'll post a few stories from my book about that place here, so stay tuned.

I'd really appreciate any help I can get with this project.

I've never even heard of this place. Then again, I never heard of the SCMC until I'd been online a number of years. When will the film be coming out?

Don't tell too many stories for free. You want to sell the book.

Well, it was entirely my step-dad who sent me there. I'm pretty sure he knows it was a bad decision (and a huge waste of money) but he never apologized like my mom did. I actually didn't return home after I left that place. I was kept there until they couldn't keep me any longer and on my 18th birthday I walked out the front doors with nowhere to go and nothing but my freedom.

I know exactly why I was sent there.

1. My step-dad was Mormon and another boy from our stake was sent there.

2. I refused to go to seminary or church.

3. He caught me violating the laws of chastity and the word of wisdom.

You're damned kidding me? A Liahona level contributor to FARMS sent his son to a boys prison for 3 years? You're right, we haven't seen anything this sick yet on the board. When you brought this up before, I kind of thought it was a "summer" program for "wayward youth" that had minor criminal issues as teens. And no, not just drinking. Stealing etc. I knew someone who had been "put away" for 3 months. This is just ridiculous.

Well, JustMe ought to think very carefully about his obsession with "book reading". Apparently, some of the most commited and educated readers of the review can read hundreds or thousands of books and be so out of touch with reality and blinded by the cult that they make decisions like this.

I seriously almost cried when I saw your "walked out at 18" remark. Honestly, that you'd even ever had wanted to have a relationship with your parents again shows an amazing capacity to forgive on your part.
