No Ray. I am simply basing it on a comparison with LDS doctrine and the positions of today's democratic party.

You mean your understanding of LDS doctrine.

Is the Church opposed to socialism or not?

Is the Church opposed to gay marriage or not?

Is the Church opposed to the ERA or not?

etc. etc.

You see, it's not really a matter of my understanding vs. someone else's. It's a matter of fact.

Your real problem is that you can't separate your political beliefs from your religious beliefs.

No one can. One's politics is an outgrowth, an outward sign, of one's spiritual beliefs (and condition).

Was the United Order a form of socialism?

Is the Church opposed to electing presidents who bonk on the side?

And all the prominent Mormon democrats are really apostates.

No. Socialism is mandatory. The United order is not.

Is the Church opposed to electing presidents who bonk on the side?

Is the person bonking on the side publically in favor of it or are they just hypocrites?

You need to brush up on Mormon history. The penalty for not complying with the United Order, once it was in place, was excommunication. What do you think happened in Acts? Go back to your scriptures, BC.

I'll take that as a yes. I disagree with your reading of Hinckley, but that's another matter. The Book of Mormon is very clear on preemptive war.

Ray A: BC remembers Church history in the ways it can be seen to confirm his views. It is called wresting. Presentism. You already know, I don't need to explain it to you.
