What do you think? Does this reflect on the whole pro prop-8 movement, or is the media exaggerating the issue since the other side engages in boycotting? Is it different because this is the core of pro pro-8 as opposed to simply a popular blog?

Also, why were those in favor of prop 8 so stupid to pull this stunt? Did they forget to hire public relations guys (and maybe lawyers)?

Well it reflects on the Yes on 8 campaign group, since it was their members who sent the extortion letters.

You seem to be overlooking that the bulk of the Yes on 8 people are Mormons, if the past threads on the issue on this board are to be believed. These Mormons believe that God himself, the great Elohim, he who created the entire universe of billions of galaxies of billions of stars each, wants them, and even orders them through his Prophets, Seers, Revelators, and Henchmen on Earth, to see that Prop 8 passes.

So, they've got God on their side. Would it surprise you if that confidence lead to a sort of "anything goes" attitude? I mean, Nephi committed cold-blooded murder against Laban when he thought he was doing God's will.

I wonder if any Mormons are out there, at night or whatever, stealing the No on 8 signs. If so, I wonder if they think their thefts are justified because they are in the service of a higher law?

They're not stupid. They're just confident that the Creator of the Entire Universe is on their side in this campaign. Oh wait, that is pretty f***ing stupid.
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen
