Whatever happened to Bennie Builder, Tom Trails, The Lamanite Generation, Lamanite missions and the rest? Have they gone the way of Zelph and the brethren being told to take wives of Lamanite women?

1960's vintage missionary tools and lessons for "Lamanite Missions' of the time. Tom Trails, Bennie Builder and others were lesson characters used in teaching. The Lamanite Generation was a performing group from BYU featuring real Lamanites attending the school. "Go My Son" was the popular song on campus used to inspire these Lamanites as the promised people who wound some day turn white and delightsome as they joined the Church and became saved from their sins.

I never heard of Bennie Builder, but I was just wondering yesterday whatever became of the Lamanite Generation (because of the report that gay authors are considering pulling the rights to their popular works, such as Wicked, from BYU's 'Young Ambassadors' singing/dancing group).

But I loved Tom Trails! What a blast back about 40 years, when I used to watch the filmstrips in seminary. The theme song was the best: "You have Lilly's love, and your faith in God above..." Pure camp.
