Re: Faith promoting lies
Some of my favorite faith-promoting lies include:
1) Young women excaping the clutches of their polygamous LDS abductors by jumping from the window of the temple into the Great Salt Lake.
2) In Jun of 1829, while Sidney Rigdon was busy setting up congregations for his faith throughout Northern Ohio, somehow he managed to travel several hundred miles to Fayette, NY, just in time to dress in white, and supposedly on Joseph's cue, stood somewhat obscured behind some bushes, and pretending to be an angel, held out some gold-painted plates for Cowdrey, Whitmer, and Harris to witness.
3) According to Ed Decker, during the 70's, human and animal sacrifices were performed in the temple, and Elder Hinkley had a homosexual relationship.
4) Brigham Young order the MMM, and Joseph started a "gunfight", resulting in his death.
5) There are several witness statements collected by Spalding therorists that I could list were I to have the time. But, I don't. I am headed out of town.
Thanks, -Wade Englund-

The mother lie of them all:
"I know the church is true."
I can't decide for sure on this one being a lie.
I think more like it is plain stupidity to believe what they say

Fantastic! Thank you cinepro.

Dr. Shades wrote:The Nehor wrote:That one actually came from a medieval churchman to help his wealthy congregation feel good about it. Unfortunately the Apostles never heard of that gate so they were astonished at what he said.
There were still apostles living in Medieval times?
No, the original Apostles were astonished when Jesus talked about the rich and the eye of the needle. If there was such a gate in Jerusalem you'd think they would have known about it and they would have not been astonished by the metaphor.

DCP
There is absolutely no evidence for the claims of Mormonism.
Let's get serious for sec.
Book of Mormon is definitely an absolute fantasy. You have no shred of evidence. If you gauge Prophet's subsequent translations, seeing everyone of them exposed patently Bogus, what else is left as avicence for somebody to decide?
And all those below intelligent assertions of imaginary Jesus, proclaiming in America never dying 3 Nephite Geezers. Joseph's ever improved First Vision, Polygamy enforced by a flaming sword?
With these below IQ tools, Church is sending missionaries to the World? It is beyond any embarrassment I can imagine anybody going through let alone those young & innocent boys and girls.
The sad thing is you have to endure this life-long embarrassment, knowing that you could shake it up anytime you wished.
But you didn't.
That is sad.

Right....except you're talking.

Nope.
You have no shred of evidence.
Actually I do.

I disrespectfully disagree.
And all those below intelligent assertions of imaginary Jesus, proclaiming in America never dying 3 Nephite Geezers.
I don't recall Jesus proclaiming immortal geezers. Perhaps you're not reading the same book I am.
Joseph's ever improved First Vision, Polygamy enforced by a flaming sword?
I find the First Vision hard to improve upon.
With these below IQ tools, Church is sending missionaries to the World?
I don't think people who believe in below IQ tools have any justification to judge others.
It is beyond any embarrassment I can imagine anybody going through let alone those young & innocent boys and girls.
I wasn't embarrassed. I did meet raving lunatics yelling out the stuff you talk about (usually while drunk). I felt embarrassed for them.
The sad thing is you have to endure this life-long embarrassment, knowing that you could shake it up anytime you wished.
But you didn't.
This calls for the world's smallest violin.

There actually is evidence for the Book of Mormon. You may not like the evidence or deem it lacking, but you can't say it doesn't exist.

Are we on the same page?
My assertion is, there is no historical (archeological) evidence anywhere, which ties to Book of Mormon.
Have you seen one?
