Really?? So you believe that a terrorist gladly gives his life for .... what exactly?

You don't believe that there is a tiny bit of conviction somewhere in the terrorists head?

Wow. These people are willing to kill others, while killing themselves, in order to please God, and you doubt that they sincerely believed they were doing God's will???

This is one of the strangest conversations I've ever experienced on the internet - and that says a lot. It ranks right up there with Wade saying people who view spousal intimacy as the primary core of marriages are narcissistic - two hits in one day. Is it something in the water? A full moon?

Umm, actually He is.

What is the scripture about God cannot lie or He will cease to be God.

And God has PROMISED that whatsoever we ask in faith shall be revealed to us.

No, no he's not. Not answering is not lying. You're not seriously going to suggest that the apostates of the board ask in faith?????

And the hits keep coming...

Nehor, I prayed in faith for years before losing faith altogether. I desperately wanted to continue believing. And the answer was stone cold silence, that only deepened my despair and confusion. Then, one day, I realized that - by the church's own teachings - the stone cold silence that deepened my despair and confusion meant "no". Understanding that was like a ray of sunshine after all the storm clouds, and finally brought me peace.

Different question then the one I answered. I stated that i doubted that they had prayed for revelation about their acts.

I also doubt their faith in general though. Most people have met members of faiths (including the LDS one) that have members that obey virtually none of the commands and laws of their faith but occasionally perform acts of borderline fanaticism in the name of their faith. The unbalanced fanatics tend to be lukewarm on obedience in general areas.

I find it strange that an adult ex-LDS has never heard of these things.

The argument was that many of us were once TBM's, and we didn't get answers when we sincerely prayed with faith.

Your argument was that God is not bound to answer everything we ask.

I provided scriptural references where He PROMISES that He will answer if we ask in faith. Heck, isn't that the whole crux of Moroni's promise? That if we ask in faith, He will answer?

Now I'm sure I'll get some song and dance about how He never said WHEN he would answer us, right??

You're not seriously suggesting that you believed that silence meant no when you were LDS?

We have all been taught that no answer or a stupor of thought is the same as no ........... UNLESS you are praying about the Book of Mormon. Then you just need to keep praying.

I already gave you said song and dance. Said song and dance is talked about often by Apostles and the like. It is an important teaching. I'm surprised you didn't know this. I would also question also whether you had enough faith (I do it of myself all the time).

I was never taught such a thing. Stupor of thought being no, yes, taught all the times. Silence meaning no, nope, never heard of it. CFR please.
