Many accounts of early LDS women losing children during and shortly after birth. Some accounts do not mention midwives, nurses or Doctors at all.
Were early LDS folk losing kids because of a dependance/belief in 'God will take care of everything' similar to Christian Scientists or 'faith to be healed' groups?
I have a read a few accounts that say the Elders were called for the sick but few that Doctors were called. Was 'faith healing' the norm and medical professionals shunned?

Before you criticize someone, walk a mile in their shoes. That way when you do criticize them you'll be a mile away and you'll have their shoes.
