If you feel that way, then don't read his threads, or participate on them. It's a simple solution, really. For someone with such a high intellect, I'm surprised you couldn't come up with that one on your own.

Stick to your own lofty threads about atheism and science.

Well Liz I'm pointing out the stupidity of discussing things like what Gods do or don't do with serious earnest..out of compassion. Really what you two like to discuss quite seriously, is akin to claiming aliens exist on the other side of the moon but then arguing over what logically is their favorite sport, tennis or golf.

Marg,

Do you consider yourself to be a militant atheist?

Before the internet I didn't go around defining myself as atheist. I spent virtually no time contemplating issues about religion, and when I look back I appreciate I sure saved myself a lot of time personally.

Yep, I'm definitely done talking to you. You will not get me to respond to you ever again. That's it. Finshed.

Great, now if I can only get you to stop talking nonsense.

Compassion for who, Marg?

The only person on this whole board that our discussions along this line seems to bother is you. This is a Mormon Discussion Board. Anything dealing with Mormonism, we are free to discuss.

If you don't like the discussion, then don't read it, or participate in it. That's what we have the Ignore feature for. You should try using it. It would certainly make your life a whole lot easier. And I say that with all compassion.

Contrary to your opinion that people's nonsensical garbage should be respected, I think it is more compassionate to tell them the truth so that hopefully they'll appreciate how stupid they do sound and will stop.

Exactly Liz this is a discussion board. It's not been me in this thread telling anyone to stop participating in it which you have done, rather I'm only pointing out how stupid the discussion of afterlife is.

I didn't say I didn't like the discussion, I said discussing nonsense as if it were factual or actual is stupid. And my opinion of people who do so is based upon that.

Well, it's a pretty safe bet that they aren't going to "stop talking nonsense" marg, since I invited them to talk about their beliefs in the OP:

I'm really trying to understand what LDS believe about how the Celestial Kingdom functions in terms of godhood/other worlds.

I don't know why this thread has turned into a massive pissing contest.

And yet it has.

Oh but I forget, Hinckley told the world he was not sure that we teach that.

Jersey Girl ... I made a very short but I believe powerful statment of Mormon doctrine in regards to your question ... any thoughts out there on this concept?

That's what we have the Ignore feature for.

I've heard of that feature but have never used it. This will be a first. If I can't figure out how to set the ignore button for Marg, I will humbly ask you, Liz, how to do it.

Off to my personal account settings.
