I think Oaks and the rest of the Mormons are pissed off because they saw how the crazy Protestant fundamentalists have ruled this country for so long, and they naïvely thought they could get a piece of it. Now that the influence of religion is waning in America, they're realizing that their opportunity to strike has passed. Too, too bad.

Actually he said no such thing, but almost every other post since then has tacitly or explicitly affirmed the same falsehood.

I find it telling that it is necessary to so blatantly misrepresent Elder Oaks' remarks in order to find something to criticise.

Telling; but not surprising.
