If the gold plates were "taken up" to heaven, why not the stone box, too?

Sounds like the genre of theory which supposes that God placed dinosaur bones in the earth to test the faith of believers.

Me too. that's why I posted it. But I have my hunches and your doubt was showing.

I wouldn't be so quick to arrogantly equate my doubt in a simple apologetic argument with doubt in the Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Not everyone is so eager to join the sad and bitter stew I see bubbling around here.

I believe that an appropriate Mopologetic response might be something along the lines of, "The person asking the question has a long history of making arguments riddled with logical fallacies, and we think he may have a criminal record. Also, he is a known anti-Mormon who has been crusading against the Gospel of Jesus Christ for over a decade."

Most of what I've read through the FARMS Review seems fairly scholarly and professional, and the men I've met who work at the Maxwell Institute seems fairly intelligent. I've never heard or read about any of them using such an argument.
