New Perspectives on the visitation of Moroni

Post by _Mercury »

Sorry guys, if I am playing catch up point me to any threads where this has been discussed.

Is this a proper depiction for how the Angel Moroni appeared to Joseph Smith? Is this what happened?

This depiction is more like what I was used to:

Let me make a reaching commentary here folks.

This is what Jonestown looked like:

This is what The Peoples Temple survivors (if there are any) would have you believe happened:

Oh Yeah!!!!!!!!

As in...Oh yah, his brothers were asleep in the bed with him. Course, I guess the angel could have used his magical powers to put his brothers to sleep. Once you accept one BS magical claim its easier to accept even bigger piles of bullshyte.

No -- not just "once."

You've got to accept this story "three times."
The angel came back twice again that night and pulled the same stunt.
And the brothers (need two more in that bed) again slept through a
blinding light in the room -- brighter than the sun at noon day.

Let's get a couple of searchlights and crank them up inside Monson's
bedroom, and see if he can sleep through three such displays in
one night. --- (we'll be quite as mice, I promise...)

The first picture is correct Merc. The Smith family lived in a small cabin. I really don't see why it would be difficult for the Lord to cause th eothers to continue sleeping as the Angel visited.

Moroni placed his magic hankie over Joseph's mouth and nose before letting the noxious sleeping gas seep from his resurrected sphincter.

Once all in the room were under his flatulent influence, Moroni removed the Hosanna shout hankie from Joseph. He then forced a cubic yard of gas through his tightened resurrected sphincter, which was tight, like unto a dish. This created a loud noise which awoke the young prophet in embryo.

Yes, to believe the stories of the early church, you must believe in magic.

Equate it to believing that the Playboy Bunny really was there for your wet dream - three times - while your wife slept obliviously next to you.

Lol so hard my sphincter malfunctioned.
I think it would be morally right to lie about your religion to edit the article favorably.
