I have read non-stop posts about this Will person on this board and others (ie http://www.mormonapologetics.org/index.php? ) and he is absolutely embarrassing the Mormon population.

I hope those of you who are not Mormon, were Mormon and now not Mormon, Mormon, or doubting Mormon do not label all Mormons with the characteristics of this Will Shyrevbiersvffhbersfererer fella.

Sorry to depart from the party line -- but I really should mention that in all
my dealings with Will Schryver, he has been a perfect gentleman and was
consistently honest and forthright (so far as I could ever determine).

Now -- it is no doubt that many others here (and there), including observant
LDS, have much different experiences to relate.

But (if you're lurking, Will) since he's always been decent and honest with
me, I feel that I should be decent and honest with him.

While he has said a couple of rude things to me, I found that once he realized I don't care about the hot air, he stopped attacking me personally and got to the meat of the discussion - which I felt were valid arguments. But I don't agree with all his points.

I do not. Will is a cowboy Mormon in the tradition of Porter Rockwell.

Nor do I label all Mormons by the fallacies of apologetics and FARMS. Otherwise, I would think Mormons all sneering and condescending. The vast majority of LDS Inc followers that I have known are like Gazelam. Earnest in their beliefs, patient in awaiting the time God will reveal all. They use scientific and scholarly knowledge in their daily lives, but when it comes to defining the hereafter--they continue their belief in what cannot yet be proven.

Others I have known began asking questions, and that is when it unraveled for them. You might say they grew impatient awaiting the time that God would reveal all. I am one of them--this inquiring mind wanted and keeps wanting to know.

That has been my experience too. I know Will rubs a lot of people the wrong way, but even though I don't agree with everything he says or how he says it I value his perspective. Will is a straight shooter. Sure he's acerbic at times, but I find in many of his posts a wisdom and gravity (and sense of humor) that seems to be entirely lacking in the vitriolic outpourings of the board's self-appointed attack dogs who shall go unnamed. Maybe I'm just a bleeding heart, but I read many of Will's more lacerating posts as being of the "more in sorrow than anger" variety.
