The spirit and feelings

Just to be perfectly clear for anyone, I do not for one moment think that a drug intentionally consumed can produce a spiritual experience which will bring you closer to God.

I think any drug use is the path ultimately to death; the point I was making is that subjective experience is the only kind of "experience" we can individually know, and that the "objective" as well as the "subjective" are ultimately socially defined.

I don't suspect that will communicate well on this board, but I felt I needed to post it here anyway.

I used to have a deep seated fear that if I did not figure out the truth I would be forever damned. This was programmed into me subconsciously by the way I was raised. Peyote helps you go into your subconscious, and with the aid of Spirit, face the demons and fears that are there and let them go. Peyote helped me realize that it is the sincerity of the heart that matters. When the heart is pure and becomes truth, then it is ready to start understanding external truths. First the heart has to become pure and one with the creator. The creator's heart is pure too.

I understand where you are coming from, but in my life I have found that drugs cannot help you in any way to develop a pure heart. That comes from direct communion with the spirit, through a path of discipline. Drugs may appear to be a shortcut, but that is illusion.

Drugs are a short cut, and the experiences probably are illusion. Getting the body and mind to also use the right chemicals to produce the spiritual experience does take discipline. The important thing may just be not deluding ourselves that it is something it probably is not.

I know what you are saying- trust me. I was into physiological psychology and chemical brain states in first hand studies in the '60's if you catch my drift, before LSD was even illegal.

I have friends who altered their consciousness all the way to psychosis and never came back.

Some people do not need a supplement to help them attain spiritual healing and knowledge. Some have a gift or talent to achieve this on their own. Some don't however. This is why the medicine exists, in my opinion.

Those who don't shouldn't have help. It is not meant to be.
