Mormons might not, but harmony does. :-)

Personal inspiration trumps everything. We are saved as individuals, not as a church.
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

I'm pretty sure the doctrine is you will only be saved as a plural wife to a male God.

and I'm pretty sure Joseph lied. As a matter of fact, I've staked my eternal salvation on my own personal relationship with God. So if I'm wrong, I haven't lost anything, because I'm not going to a Celestial Kingdom where polygamy is allowed or expected.

If the prophet was asked this point blank on 60 Minutes, I'm sure he would deny this as doctrine. Since it would be denied publicly, it is no longer doctrine. Voila!

Even though the following sources point to the concept as doctrinal, it only needs to be changed today by the current prophet. Very convenient.

I thought this was the most interesting point so far from the other board.

No, Plural Marriage is an application and practice of the Doctrine of Eternal Marriage. Doctrines are eternal principles essential for knowing God, and coming unto him. Anything else (principles, practices, instructions, policies) is auxiliary (IE, an assistance) to them, and may be altered to adapt to best present the Doctrines in the context of the current world situations.
