I'm off to Independence Mo to attend the Restoration Studies Symposium. Hope to see some of you there!

Say "hi" to Ron Dawbarn for me -- or, if he's not feeling well enough to attend
and participate, then say the same to Margie Miller.

Let us know how your own contribution there goes...

Thanks Dale. Saw Ron here, and he says hi back to you. We got to talking about his theories about the Book of Mormon sources. He's a bright guy, as I am sure you know.

Drove through there last year, nice town. The CoC's meditation room is way excellent, check it out if you have not already.

I visited it several years ago as a TBM, but didn't really appreciate the "apostate" building much. ;) I suspect that my experience will be much more positive now, now that I no longer have personal loyalties to the LDS Church. I hope to check it out tomorrow eve with Seth Bryant, John Hamer, and hopefully Steven Shields too. Had a wonderful time at the conference. Saw Phillip Barlow and Alanzo Gaskill. Didn't talk to Barlow, but Gaskill is a really REALLY cool guy. Another very cool guy is Paul Savage, an apostle of the Church of Christ with the Elijah Message. He's very laid back, and has a great sense of humor. Had Dinner with Michael Stevens, Marry Ellen Robertson, Marcello Jun de Oliveira, John Hamer, and Gary and Gordon Shepherd (twin sociologists). Also saw and talked with Craig Foster, Newell Bringhurst, and Tom Kimball. My presentation went very well (well attanded and well received), and several of the other presentations I attended were quite informative.

Looks interesting. Particularly "How Mormon is CoC?" Will any of the presentations be available for us unfortunates?

No. Unfortunately the presentations weren't recorded. Ron did a great with his How Mormon is the CoC? He pretty much explained that the name Mormon came from outsiders, because the early saints had the Book of Mormon as scripture. He then compared current CoC doctrines with what is taught in the Book of Mormon, and finally concluded suggesting that the CoC may be more Mormon than LDS.

Thanks for the report. Yeah, the way I read the book, it certainly is.
