For what it's worth, I don't hate Will. Never have. I don't know who Wheat is, and as far as I know, maybe Wheat fooled Will, too. I just said what I know about the whole thing. It was an ugly time for me, and if there ever was a malevolent stalker, it was Wheat. Last I checked, Scratch has never threatened Dan Peterson with violence.

If Will does leave MAD, I suspect he was given a little push.
I also suspect he will return immediately under a different name.
No doubt about it.

I think Will was double-teaming you with a buddy back east.
As for his departure, I won't shed any tears. I have no idea what I feel about the real Will Schryver. His online persona was a turd.

Maybe. I really don't know. I ignored it for a long time, and then when enough people convinced me to take it seriously, our friend Wheat mocked me for being paranoid. It wasn't a good experience.

His private correspondence to me has always been friendly, but for whatever reason, I'm his poster child for evil and disingenuous apostates who are trying to pull unsuspecting people out of the church using insidious tactics such as politeness and reason.
Of course, if Will's gone, bcspace is still around to "cut me to the quick," as it were.

Well, I am sorry that you had to endure that. Would that the tool who did that to you learned to feel ashamed of himself and put a permanent halt to it.

I had my moments with Will, and by that I mean positive moments. He completely lost me with the violation of my privacy. That said, I still wish the best for his sick daughter, and I mean that sincerely.

No offense to bc, but there is amateur hour, and then there is open mike night.

Re: Bowflex Bill
As for myself, I have reached the limit of my endurance when it comes to these online forums. I have become such a lightning rod of late that my words, however much light they may cast upon the scene, are getting lost in the thunder. I have concluded, therefore, that I must act to place my words in a new context that will both shield them from the wanton vandals as well as make them more potent and persuasive in the eyes of those who are best positioned to derive benefit therefrom.
And so, with that, I bid you all a final, if not universally fond, farewell.
Another watershed moment in the history of Mopologetics.

Re: Bowflex Bill
I would like to think that I have contributed to Will leaving, at least in some small role.
I think it best he discontinue posting on the internet, in the same thread linked where he announced his departure he threw his own children under the bus stating:
This is a terrible thing to do. No need to point out the faults you find with your own children especially when using your actual name. I am sure his kids are or will be thrilled.

And then you have a classic manifestation of something I have even observed in my own two eldest children: a reluctance to label anything as unacceptable. They have been trained to believe that “diversity” is among the highest virtues, even if it means accommodating what, only a generation ago, would have been almost universally regarded as unacceptable deviance. This is the day we live in.

So do I. As I said, he's been very friendly in private.

I was being sarcastic. It does make me smile that bc thinks he has "cut me to the quick." Who knew?

That's a telling statement from Will. I think that's what he thinks he's been doing with people like Zeezrom and others he deems to be in apostasy. He sees himself as labeling them as unacceptable, as if he is standing up for truth and right in pointing out the deviance of others.
The problem is that people rarely fit into the little boxes and categories we make for them.
