Are you REALLY saying that the critics are not personally insulted on MAD and that the Mods stamp it out when it happens? What board have you been reading?
Pahoran has a reputation for making vicious comments toward critics, and might receive a slap on the wrist.
Where did the violation Will make concerning the whole mess with Trevor? On MAD!
It's true that the language is less crude on MAD, but the insults against critics are just as vicious and cutting.

My personal favorite is Uncle Dale. He has a lot of information and is usually very respectful but direct. His sense of humor in usually non-insulting and funny. Several years ago I found myself grossly ignorant on one point and needed information which he kindly supplied. Great guy.

As a critic who posts on MAD, I can most assuredly tell you that critics are NOT free to speak. I can't tell you the number of posts I've decided to delete for fear of being banned because they were mildly abrasive.
The weight of the hammer of "justice" falls hard on critics at MAD.

Nehor, you are sounding blissfully unaware of the going-ons within the very MADB. I'm reminded here of when my name was purposefully tweeked to "de-refined" by none other than Will Schryver. Did he get warned or banned? Not publically at least, like the Moderators are so willing to do to a critics "low-blows". . . even so much as to step in and publically say "well you deserve it".

No, I'm saying that the insults there are of less intensity and more rare. I expect to be insulted here on a daily basis, pretty much any time I post. Since virtually every insulting exchange of any consequence is brought over here for analysis and to villify the LDS poster and I see them (I'm guessing) two or three times a week here I think my conclusion is sound.

Part of the reason for this is that most of the critics have been banned from MAD. The apologists (mostly) don't eat their own... unless you're Consig, then it's fair game.

I agree with you on this. Uncle Dale is a frequent poster here, though, as well.
