As a critic who posts on MAD, I can most assuredly tell you that critics are NOT free to speak. I can't tell you the number of posts I've decided to delete for fear of being banned because they were mildly abrasive.
The weight of the hammer of "justice" falls hard on critics at MAD.
True, there are limits to what can be said. I'm not saying that MA&D is some kind of ideal, just why I prefer it.

Part of the reason for this is that most of the critics have been banned from MAD. The apologists (mostly) don't eat their own... unless you're Consig, then it's fair game.
If they lifted the restrictions on talking about politics you'd see them start eating each other like we do sometimes here.

Oh, I think there is plenty of ugliness aside from these particular comments. Just because it has a particularly Dolores Umbridge flavor to it, does not mean it is not ugly.

Let me also say here that I sincerely appreciate the apologists who do choose to post here, in spite of some of the complaints they have listed. MDB wouldn't be the same without you. :)
Is it just me, or does this seem to be a good discussion going on here without any real personal attacks going on. In fact it seems that the mild attacks are coming from believing members(Ex Nehor about the idiot brigade).
I'm certain most members here at MDB can show just as must respect as they are recieving from the apologist. The only difference here with this "open discussion" is it does not allow for the apologist to get away with blows without some getting returned.

I could just see this discussion at MAD! It would go something like "stop whining", "if you don't like it then leave", "no board nannying", "CFR!!!!".
