An interesting read. When will Jesus have his Temple work done? How about Peter, James and John and the rest of the Top 12? Will they hold off on Judas?

I don't even want to ask whether someone thinks Mary would make to heaven or not. Doing her work makes me think at least someone thinks she wouldn't make it otherwise. Very sad doctrine.

It just goes to show the quality of the temple work submission process! For all we know, Thor, God of Thunder is Mormon by proxy! It all just soooo hysterical! It is impossible to do 100% for everyone ever born into this world. . I.m.p.o.s.s.i.b.l.e! So it makes the argument even more silly that they need to even do it at all. . . if God is just going to account for those that couldn't possibly have had their work done, he can account for ANYBODY!

There is no money for the church in encouraging members to volunteer for food bank duty.

Have you ever noticed how infrequently people think something through? Take the "families will be together forever" doctrine. Most people think of that in terms of... I'll have all my children with me. Well, guess what... everyone will be adults. No one will have their children around them, because everyone is someone's child. So we'll either all be together or none of us will be.

The same goes for the ordinances for the dead stuff. I can't tell you how many times I've taken "Mary, born in 16??" through, knowing it means nothing. It's lip service, done only to be part of the group. Temples should be for personal ordinance work only. The ordinances for the dead stuff is just a means to keep people payng their tithing.

You seriously expect that the LDS do not think they already had the equivalent of temple ordinances done when they were alive?

It basically says that yes, ordinance work gets duplicated all the time and often they can't even be sure that the person it's being done for is real, so a huge component of BFD is the spiritual benefits it carries for those who carry out the work.
