In other words, quoting Nietzsche won't resolve the issue you have with Mormons quoting Lewis. The issue, as you see it, is that Lewis does not see Christianity the way Mormons do. I thought we already conceded that point. However, this time you do provide an example from Jeff Lindsay which shows that he is being disingenuous (well, I didn't read Lindsay's site, but I take your word for it). You are right that Mormons shouldn't do that. I don't think Nehor did that in this thread.
Lewis and other Christians will absolutely reject the LDS conceptions about godhood. I have no problem saying that clearly and honestly. Even so, I still think it's useful to show where we have common ground. We have more common ground than many realize. There is, of course, the danger in pointing out this common ground that we may oversell the commonalities. We need to be open and honest about the differences. I believe that I have been. I don't see Nehor as being deceptive on that front either.
So, now that we have that out of the way (if only), what is wrong with Nehor quoting Lewis? Did Nehor take Lewis out of context or imply that Lewis agrees with LDS teachings about heaven? Or was Nehor limiting his remarks to where he agreed with Lewis akin to someone quoting Shakespeare or Robert Frost?

Reminds me of that hidden dragon crouching pussy movie (or whatever it was called).

Hoops, I freely admit that certain aspects of your avatar are hard to ignore... like your teeth. Yeah, your teeth are so white and shiny in that picture. And what a really nice smile. ;-)
Mormonism ceased being a compelling topic for me when I finally came to terms with its transformation from a personality cult into a combination of a real estate company, a SuperPac, and Westboro Baptist Church. - Kishkumen

While I agree that Nietzsche may also fit this description, it would indeed be interesting to see a shift from C.S. Lewis, Robert Frost, and Charles Dickens to Nietzsche, Freud, and H.P. Lovecraft.

Asbestosman, I'm deliberately not answering this because I already said what I have to say about C.S. Lewis and don't want to come across as starting a flame war with Nehor, who I actually like.
Any defender of the Church who is willing to give a legitimate answer to a skeptical question and includes calling the skeptic a idiot in that answer deserves props, in my opinion.
