Did you know that beheading was originally on the books as a method of execution in Utah?
Nobody ever actually was beheaded, but still......the Utah legislature actually voted for this to be a possible method of execution.

If I remember correctly, some citizens tried to persuade Utah authorities to purchase a guillotine shortly after a public firing squad execution went horribly wrong. Bullet after bullet, they just couldn't seem to kill the guy. Guillotine executions elsewhere had messy problems too at times, especially when the blades became dull or rusty.
