There is a strange paragraph in the current ensign. In an article called "Finding Ourselves In Lehi's Dream" on page 23 Boyd K says the following:
Who wrote this incredible vision? There is nothing like it in the Bible. Did Joseph Smith compose it? Did he write the Book of Mormon? That is harder to believe than the account of angels and golden plates. Joseph Smith was only 24 years old when the Book of Mormon was published.
Since he did not specify which Joseph, the answer is yes, Joseph Smith did compose it...Joseph Smith Sr that is.
Does this seem like a strange paragraph to anyone else? Why would he think any of his flock are questioning who wrote the vision? Up until 9 months ago the thought never crossed my mind that the vision and Book of Mormon was anything other than divine scripture. Are people falling off the Book of Mormon bandwagon that quickly?
The next paragraph gives us all direction for leading a safe ordinary life:
You will be safe if you look like and groom like and act like and ordinary Latter-day Saint.
Just what I have dreamt of my entire life, to be an ordinary Latter-day saint. They sure do know how to inspire
