I don't know if there's anything I can learn from an apologist.

I already know how to lie and deceive.

I simply choose not to.

I agree with the apologists that it was only his opinion, and that he was only speaking as a man. The apologists and I are thereby one, and since apologists are faithful members of the church, then I, too, am a faithful member of the church.
"Finally, for your rather strange idea that miracles are somehow linked to the amount of gay sexual gratification that is taking place would require that primitive Christianity was launched by gay sex, would it not?"

That's an excellent point, Dr. Shades. I also appreciate apologists helping me understand the prophets and other church leaders are frequently speaking as men or just offering their opinions. And since apologists cannot offer us any objective criteria on how to determine whether or not they are speaking as men or as prophets, I think it is spiritually safer to assume the former so that we don't get confused by things that are just speculation or the opinions of men.

And I am glad for apologists explaining that we have an open canon and that we are not fundamentalists, so doctrine can change any time. Since this is the case, I think placing much stock in any of the Church's theological doctrines can be detrimental, since those doctrines can change at any time, making us resistant to continuing revelation.
