Well, I don't think Ray is in the mood for this kind of generosity.

Nevo: yes.
David: haven't seen him in a while, but he is working at BYU now. Coincidence?
Gazelam: generally like him, but his attitudes about gays are seriously repugnant to me.

I don't know what mood Ray is in.
I don't know if he's feeling generous.

Ray asked for our opinion and I obliged.

I'd probably give Nevo a pass, so maybe I could amend that to 1. Maybe.

Perhaps.

Mik is no longer here,

Don't be so sure. ;-)

and Bokovoy is still holding to some weird apologetic meshing of truth and fiction, unlike his much more thorough and logical tutor, David Wright.

Don't know about that. I like his style.

Cut the b***s***, BC. You are forever claiming that there's "no contradiction" between Mormonism and science,

No one's ever been able to come up with any evidence to the contrary.

Well, science does not function on "opinion".

Agreed. But it does function with hypothesis', an analog of "mere opinion".

So you either accept science and empirical findings, or reject Mormonism,

I accept all empirical findings and note that my hypothesis has taken them into account without contradicting "Mormonism".

but don't come with this hybrid version of complete incoherence, creating the false impression that science and Mormonism blend in a sweet and uncontentious manner.

You're just gnashing your teeth because you've not been able to poke a hole in my hypothesis.

The worst kind of deception is self-deception.

Then why do you continue to engage in it?

Do you understand how a hypothesis functions? It is submitted to a group of scientists for evalution, before it becomes a hypothesis.

To which scientific committee have you submitted your hypothesis?

David Bokovoy and Nevo are well worth dialoguing with on any issue. Mak and Blair can get tiresome in a debate, but they're very bright and they're both wonderful people (so far as I can tell).

They're lots of wonderful people in the world. I had a couple of JWs at my door about two hours ago, one whom I've had a very long "door association" with (his children and mine went to the same school), and I enquired about his family and well being, and we shook hands after I very straightforwardly told him "you're wasting your time with me". I consider him to be an honourable person and a good citizen, but no thank you, I can't do without "Jehovah's Kingdom".

But what really galls me to no end (of course, I'm joking) is when they make claims about what I've said and can't seem to find the proof in it.

I'd say, we apologists declare victory in this thread.

Will you take on Nightlion and defend the LDS Church against his proof of their apostasy?

Gotcha.

The most active LDS apologists on this board right now seem to be Simon, Bcspace, Ttribe. Gazelem and Droopy seem to be dropping off. There are so many I miss. DCP and Wade made this a hopping place. I liked Will Schryver too when he wasn't being a potty mouth. The more unreasonable apologists are here, the more lively this place becomes.

I agree, Mok. There's nothing like Kangaroo Apologetics. Hop here, hop there, deny there, deny here. Hop, hop, hop. Change like the wind panderers. Hop, hop, hop.
