Hey Mike,
Are you familiar with this Book?
Bible Dictionary meaning of words
It was written post Joseph Smith, but he speaks of the "waters of Meroni" and I have wondered from where this came... just curious. :-)

Very interesting. Have you found a connection with other names on this map to that of the Book of Mormon? I think I see others.

It's merely a bad image. The text reads "waters of Merom" - Lake Merom is the same as the modern Lake Hula in Israel. Josh. 11:5, 7 refer to it.It was written post Joseph Smith, but he speaks of the "waters of Meroni" and I have wondered from where this came... just curious. :-)

Right. Here is a better image of the phrase in the book.

Re: Cumore, Meroni (1784 map)
You apostates all think you are so clever, but this proves NOTHING! If anything, it is another "bullseye" in favor of the church. God inspired the names of places and people in the Book of Mormon. God also has inspired other explorers and colonizers through the Light of Christ. It stands to reason that there would be similarities in place names and people names across time and cultures. This evidence shows that God loves all His children and that He is over all and through all. Just as He inspired Paul and Moroni on separate hemispheres hundreds of years apart to write essentially the same sermon on charity, so, too, did he inspire people in different parts of the world thousands of years apart to use the name "Moroni." It makes sense to anyone with faith. To the bitter darkened heart of an apostate, though, it just must seem so easy to leap to the false conclusion that Joseph Smith "copied" a name from a map of the Comoros Islands and put it into the Book of Mormon. We KNOW this cannot be true because Joseph Smith did not write the Book of Mormon but rather translated it by the gift and power of God and had witnesses bear testimony of that fact.

Frankyboy,
Your logic is the kind of logic that can simply make anything true by desiring it to be true. That's what we do when we sleep at night and dream -- it's call fantasy. So, wake up boy and smell the coffee.
Anyway, no matter what logic you employ -- you and Joe Smith can never turn the little black boy in Facsimile No. 3 into a slave. You'll have to go to bed to do that.
Sleep tight, Frankly.

Not to derail the thread but the evidence shows conclusively that Joe Smith stole from the 1611 English King James Bible including errors made therein that had nothing to do with a man named Paul who lived long before the English were translating bibles.
Go back to sleep and dream about Paul & Joe writing the same thing. Just be sure to skip the 1611 century while you're at it.
