What fetishes have you developed since leaving the church?

Apparently, one of the "wages of sin" (read: the fruits of apostasy) is the development of weird sexual fetishes that we are likely to drone on about.

This has me thinking: has anyone's sexual interests changed since leaving the LDS church? [Please, let's keep this PG-13 per board rules.]

What I've noticed is that sex seems to occupy a lot of Mormon minds. My daughter came home from church on Sunday with a "Pledge to Fight the Plague" of pornography. Both Sunday School and Relief Society were dedicated to a discussion of pornography and how to escape it. She said they were told that they should ask any prospective spouse about their pornography use; any boy who denied looking at porn was lying, they said.

But the pledge thing did prompt a good conversation with my daughter about how it is appropriate when getting serious with a young man to discuss expectations about sexuality in marriage.

Sometimes I think the shame and guilt built up around sexuality in the church gives some people a warped outlook. I've mentioned, for example, that my picture has shown up on several sexually oriented message boards, and I very much doubt that it was an exmo who did that. It's well known that "deviant" sexual practices are more prevalent among those who were raised to see sex as shameful and sinful. We know that Utah is the number one porn using state in the country; I don't think that's coincidental.

As for me, my sexual interests haven't changed much since I lost my faith (unless you count the Troy McClure problem I struggle with). I'm about as boring as ever.

What have been my "wages of sin"? Hmmm, I am drawing a blank. I put a lot of cream in my coffee and that cannot be too good for me.

No fetishes that I didn't already have as a believing LDS member; sex, porn and masturbating in old grain silos. Yep, still the same.

Post-Mo, I'm still struggling with a fetish I developed as I was spinning out for finding a truth that harmonizes with historical facts. And I'll confess, I'm not doing anything to try to recover from it.

I have some. The apologists are going to nail me for these, I'm afraid...

1. I have this thing with pies. Ever since I stopped going to church, I have this overwhelming desire to make pies on a cold Sunday. It sooths my soul to follow technical instructions and make it work. It is also fun to share it with friends and family afterwards. I feel happy and fulfilled after making a pie. A few days afterwards however, my desire kicks in again. I'm now wondering if this will ever stop...

2. I now have this thing with seeing evidence around the house that I live with a female partner. Once I realized that the holy garment of the priesthood is nothing more than men's underwear, I found that I've taken note of things that are womanly around the house. I also tend to think more about what my wife is wearing... You could say I'm obsessed to a degree. What she wears during the day is more interesting to me because I know there is a chance she is not wearing men's underwear under there. You could say I've developed a wife fetish.

Jesus christ! LDS boys must have it really tough with all that constant talk of porn and pounding meat.

I wonder how many cannot stand all of the talk about it and cannot fight the urge to run to the restroom at church just to rub one out in stall three.
