If embracing normalcy is a fetish, I'm guilty!
God belief is for people who don't want to live life on the universe's terms.

Not really a fetish, but sex + drugs is often an amazing combo.

Back to the OP, the fetish that I have developed since leaving the church is making fun of adults who believe in Santa Claus, glowing magic rocks that translate hidden Hebrew-Indian records, and flaming sword wielding angels.
Those who defend such notions are even funner to make fun of.

Apparently, one of the "wages of sin" (read: the fruits of apostasy) is the development of weird sexual fetishes that we are likely to drone on about.
There's no doubt in my mind that everyone who leaves the Church does so because of sin. But I've never implied that is always chastity or WoW or even tithing.

And there is no doubt in my mind that everyone who stays in the Mormon church after finding out the truth does so because of a need.

So do the 9-12 year children who stop believing in Santa; it is always those darned "sins".
Cherished beliefs need to be challenged, and letting them go Bc is no sin, but deep down you already know that, but it probably just hurts to be honest with yourself (a "fruit" of Mormonism).
It is ok, I forgive your judgementalism.
P.S. I never "left the church". On the spectrum of inactivity, I am merely on the farthest side of the spectrum, but still here, with the church, and not "sinning"?
Whewwww, saved from Bc's charge of "sinning" by a technicality!

I can't believe you people haven't seen through this trap.
If you say that you had some sexual deviancy before losing faith in the Church, then you really left the Church because of your perversions.
If you say that you developed some fetish or other after losing faith in the LDS Church, then that is the natural result of apostasy.
And if you say no to either, then you are lying.

Duplicate. But that's just part of my cunning plan.

I'm pretty good at it, am I not?
bc's response is predictable. Sin causes people to leave the church. Never mind that every member of the church sins. Losing faith is de facto evidence of sin because it is a sin to lose faith.
Personally, I think it's a much worse sin to rationalize what you know is wrong in defense of a faith you're afraid to lose. But then I shouldn't say that because that would be savaging the church, right? [Cue sad puppy eyes.]
If it's a sin to follow one's conscience, sure, I sinned in a big way.

Oh yeah?
You pretty much have to develop a sexual fetish to leave the Mormon cult. That's what it takes to break free. The cult really is that bad.
If you say you are out of the church and you don't have a fetish, well that just shows you were never really in it. Your involvement must have been pretty shallow if you can just walk away without a scar.
Either that or you still secretly believe. People who are still in the church are doing so on borrowed time until they break down and screw the pooch, so to speak. The only normals are people who never had to wear garments.
So relax. "Sin" a little. Embrace it, even. Develop some character that might raise a church lady's eyebrows.
