:p I use the term FLDS generally as an umbrella term for "those other people"...Mostly because the people I associate with don't have an official title. Other than being the "Church of the Father" I guess. But it's not in association with the Jeffs.
And the heart sutra is one of the best things I've ever read about!

Except that the process began in around the 10th century but became a more comman practice in the 12 century.

Although Ash Wednesday is not a Catholic holy day of obligation, it is an important part of the season of Lent. The first clear evidence of Ash Wednesday is around 960, and in the 12th century people began using palm branches from the previous Palm Sunday for ashes.

I'm thinking you have a point, but hell if I know what it is.

Well, with 26,000+ polygamists in Utah (I read that somewhere), ya gotta be related to somebody.

I used to chat with some guys from the Harmston group. And also with a relative of the LaBaron group. And I've found the Kingston's both fascinating and repellant.

Anyway, welcome to the board!
(Nevo, Jan 23) And the Melchizedek Priesthood may not have been restored until the summer of 1830, several months after the organization of the Church.

शान्ति Uncle Dale! I'm glad at least one person on the internet finally understood that.

Funny you say Kingstons (good and bad things) because they've been hanging out with us lately. Interesting folk really. I had church with them and my husband's family recently and it was very different, needless to say! I haven't met any actual "adults" I'd say. Mostly people in their 20's and younger.

On a temple related note, I found it interesting that his family took the time/effort to go to LDS temple openings last year. Especially since they believe that the changes are unforgivable.

O.O perhaps I'm missing a key point here, but what is wow about the Kingstons? Maybe you're being sarcastic. LOL I haven't been feeling my best so determining tone can be hard.

They have a reputation that is at least as extreme as the LeBaron's, and maybe more so? I don't know if you are familiar with Big Love, but the Greens are based in part on Kingston stories.
