Sorry to burst the bubble, Port.
Wiki:
North America occupies the northern portion of the landmass generally referred to as the New World, the Western Hemisphere, the Americas, or simply America (which is sometimes considered a single continent and North America a subcontinent).[15] North America's only land connection to South America is at the Isthmus of Panama.
And:
North America, the planet’s 3rd largest continent, includes (23) countries and dozens of possessions and territories. It contains all Caribbean and Central America countries, Canada, Mexico, the United States of America, as well as Greenland - the world’s largest island.

I would like to remind everyone that the text of the Book of Mormon does not say that Jesus appeared in North America at all. The text merely says that Jesus appeared to the Nephites.
The text of the Book of Mormon does not identify any known geographical location of where the Nephites were.
The only connection to North America that the Book of Mormon has is Joseph Smith finding the plates in a drumlin in New York.

It doesn't matter how I or any other layperson "uses it". The definition of what "North America" is has long been laid out by geographers. I was not aware of this until a few years ago, either. Imagine my surprise.
