However, I would recommend not complaining here until your banning has been confirmed with the word Banned under your board name. At the moment there is no such word under your MAD board name.

Hmmm, I'm still getting the "You are not allowed to visit this forum" message when I even try to visit the site. I wonder why it doesn't say "banned" by my name -- maybe they don't want to advertise what they did? I dunno.

Now I agree that the MDB has been a more perfect venue for discussion as opposed to the MADB, but I also would agree that the most intellectual dishonesty exists here. Afterall, one cannot be antiMormon without it.

I'll give you that the ex/anti Mormonism folks will sometimes make a tempest in a teapot by overinflating minor LDS church problems.

However, what mental hoops does a Mormon have to jump through to knowingly overlook Joseph Smith's history/antics, the significant Book of Mormon issues, and Book of Abraham validity? The preponderance of evidence is clearly on the side of the anti/exes and one must be intellectually dishonest to ignore it.

If those three issues (Joseph Smith, Book of Mormon, Book of Abraham) were put on trial in front of an unbiased jury, where each side had a fair chance to present their case, which side would win the overall argument? Would that jury side with the authenticity of the Book of Mormon? The character of Joseph Smith? The authenticity of the Book of Abraham as supposedly translated by Smith?

I was once hardcore TBM. It was intellectual honesty that got me out of Mormonism.

Then we would need to call Emma too to the stand. And then have them swear before god that the testimony they give is true and not a lie.

How would these witnesses do? We have their statements. Would they hold up in court under cross-examination? This is not just about Joseph Smith but about many others who were involved in the process. And I have this feeling that since none of the witnesses denied what they saw...the book may be found to be from god in a court of law. And unless the witnesses would fold like a house of cards in a windstorm, the prosecution may be just a little frustrated.

This information would be part of the case in favor of the Book of Mormon. The opposing opinion would present their case. Where would an unbiased jury land?

People lie, including religious leaders. Witness testimony would be put in the context of all of the other evidence and information. I'm convinced that an unbiased group of people would look at all of the information, for and against, and come to the logical and reasonable conclusion about the Book of Mormon, Smith, and Book of Abraham.

What about the Book of Abraham? Do you deny that trained egyptologists come to strikingly different conclusions as to what the Book of Abraham manuscripts say versus what Joseph Smith claims? What's the most logical conclusion here? The evidence is dramatically in favor of the ex/anti Mormonism position. You choose to believe something else even when the vast majority of evidence is against you. Mopologists have to come up with all kinds of lame work-arounds to explain away the obvious. That is intellectually dishonest.
