The White Bible, any new changes?

Post by _msnobody »

I took DH to the ER today and there were LDS missionaries accompanying either a member or investigator in the ER and also went back into the ER when the patient was called. Perhaps they were there serving as interpreters since the lady was spanish speaking. The hospital does have interpreters of its own though. Anyway, I thought this sort of thing was against missionary rules. Have the rules for missionaries changed since the early 2000s?

Hey MS! How are you?

I did this type of thing with my companion in the hospital on a regular basis (mid 1990's). Sometimes, the doctor would require that one of us stay behind in the waiting room while the other accompany the patient. One time, I translated for a young mom who was getting checked by an OB GYN. The doctor separated me from the woman using a curtain. I had a feeling I was breaking some kind of rule, but felt I was an exception since most missionaries (98%) in my mission were English speaking and the white Bible didn't cover this issue.

Ah, the good 'ol days of the white Bible and red pills!

You made me smile when you said you translated from behind a curtain.
