The Church could be true if God is not perfect

Post by _zeezrom »

God could have revealed a book to Joseph with imperfections, lies, and plagiarisms.

God could have been prejudiced against people of African heritage.

God might still be hung up on women having power (due to a recent divorce and a history of male dominance).

God may have created a stone box but forgot to make it look authentic so just removed it completely from the earth.

God may have been inconsistent with his revelations, first appearing as spirit then later using a time machine to show up in bodily form with his son.

Etc.

It could all be true, you know.

Or it could be that they are the errors of men. They are the errors of the only men on the entire earth who are in constant and direct contact with an omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent God, as His only chosen representatives on this earth.

Whoops, that sort of kills the "errors of men" argument, doesn't it?

l-dsinc could not survive with a God that is not perfect.

It is an impossibility.

All the problems are 'the mistakes of men' or, from brucie the Mccrazy 'forget everything we have said. we were speaking with limited understanding'...

I don;t think God has done any of those things but I don't believe God has to be perfect the way humans think of perfection.

There are different flavors of perfection? How do you know what to strive for on your path to godhood?
