How the Brethren can lie but you and I cannot

You should realize that Church leaders "lie" and lie alot! They've done so since the days of Joseph Smith. All top LDS leaders go through a secret ceremony called the "Second Anoiting" where they are 'sealed up to eternal life' and they are told there are only two sins which can unseal them:
*Shedding innocent blood
*Denial of the Holy Ghost

Well, "lying" is not shedding innocent blood, and its not blaspheming the Holy Ghost, so the Brethren can "lie" and their Eternal Life is still guaranteed.

The Brethren truly believe that they, their wives and families, are "THE CHURCH". All other members are "THE MEMBERS". It's a caste system. If the son or grandson or greatgrandson of a top Church leader gets a few young Mormon girls pregnant, well, is he going to be exed? No way. Is he going to have a Church court? NO WAY! It's all going to be "handled". Covered up. The children will be adopted out (in some cases aborted). The girls will live with relatives for a year (pregnancy covered up) or go to a special "home" for unmarried Mormon girls (yes....every LDS Social Services Area has one). The parents of the girls will be "counseled" to "not discuss" the matter with anyone ever again at any time. If they disobey this "counsel" they can lose their temple recommends or even Church membership.

But, if YOUR son gets a young Mormon girl pregnant, its a totally different story. The "RULES" that applies to "THE MEMBERS" does NOT apply to "THE CHURCH" (i.e. top Church leaders and their families and VIP members likes the Huntsmans, Marriotts, etc.).

This is why Gordon B. Hinckley could LIE THROUGH HIS TEETH all the time, and he had absolutely no worry he was sinning. Because he's one of the "Second Anointed" who are allowed "all manner of sins" save shedding innocent blood and the denial of the Holy Ghost. This is why Dallin Oaks has lied alot, and indeed, why Jeffrey Holland has lied about the Curse of Cain Doctrine in interviews. They all "lie". They believe "its for the good of the Church" (mind you...by "The Church" they DO NOT MEAN "YOU". You are just a lowly "Member".
