A Challenge to Jersey Girl to Rehash the Discussions

Post by _zeezrom »

Dear Jersey Girl,

About a year ago, you graciously gave me the opportunity to teach you the First Discussion of the LDS missionary discussions. While it was a very nice experience, we never made it very far. We only just arrived at the section on Joseph Smith before it fell apart. At this time, I would like to impose on your hospitality once more and ask that we continue our discussions. I propose a change in teaching/learning style in hopes that it will be enjoyable for both of us while a good learning experience at the same time.

Here are the only rules:

1. You post in Blue and I post in Green
2. Anyone else that wants to comment must post in black
3. Anyone can insert commentary/questions/corrections
4. You must act the part of a sincere investigator and roll play a part that seems reasonable
5. You can accept challenges (i.e. baptisms, church, tithing, etc.) with the understanding that you don't really have to do them in real life but you have to act in a way that seems to make sense for a typical, sincere investigator "like yourself".
6. One discussion per thread.

I realize it is a busy season. We can take our time. I understand if you don't feel you have the time but I hope you do.

Sincerely,

Zee.

He should probably post in light cotton.

The question that I posed was serious. Is it really asking too much of you people to resist the off topic cheap shot?

Because you were willing before.

Any other takers, in case Jersey Girl is not interested? It requires commitment!

Can you tell me why you want to do this? Do you have an ultimate goal or purpose?

(I'm very serious)

Jersey Girl,

I learned a lot during our previous exchange. You (as a nevermo) brought up many ideas that I was not ready to confront. I have thought about it since then and feel I'm better prepared now. I'm no longer in shock about my loss in faith like I used to be. I have found things that are very meaningful and I think it can be found during an exercise like this.

Honestly, I never quite had an experience like this as a missionary. I'm not doing this for jest or parody. I'm doing it to learn, that's all.

Thoughts?

Zee.

I need to think about it. If we do it, it needs to wait one week.

Check your messages in a few minutes, okay?
