It's true. Why Me is the 99%. Or more like the 70%. No problems with the church per se, just doesn't like to attend. Doesn't pay much attention to the law of chastity, but has some fondness for the church. Doesn't pay tithing or even know much about the church, but he remembers some things about it fondly.
Now, granted, most of the 70% don't come online to defend the church they barely attended back in the 70s as a means to rub up against Mormon girls, and very few could muster up the creepiness factor of Why Me even on a bad day. But still, he's closer to the norm, overall, than most of the denizens of MDB and MDD.

Tis' true. The Why me's of Mormonism probably outnumber the believing / tithe paying members by a small margin. Believers are probably 30-35% of the stated numbers (those who pay tithing) while the why me's (those who pay lip service) are probably about half of the church population of about 14 million.
I mantain that it is IMPOSSIBlE for a person to actually believe that the church is "true" and not to attend services, be fully engaged and to live its precepts.
It would be like the person claiming that gravity is true, but walking off a cliff every chance they could. Of course, they would be killed off within days, but more importantly their actions prove that they do not believe it is "true". It must be an ego thing.

If Why Me represents 70% +/- of Mormons, and their beliefs etc., it makes me even happier that I am a nevermo.
