Examining Mormonism by Fackerman on YouTube

Post by _Daheshist »

I've just finished watching a series of YouTube videos by "Flackerman" titled "Examining Mormonism". This the BEST, most balanced, most accurate, "anti" Mormon presentation I've EVER seen! This guy is fabulous. Everything he presents is spot on! No lies. No exaggerations. No spittle (he must NOT be an Evangelical). His research is absolutely impeccable. I'm jealous.

In one of his videos Hinckley is interviewed by by a German TV presenter who asks: "Why are the financial records of your Church hidden from your members?" Hinckley looks perturbed and huffs: "They'are NOT hidden! They're not for the public, but they're not hidden to the contributors!" (ah....yes...they ARE!). Flackerman then comments: "Wow! I was a Ward Financial Clerk, and I know the Church financial records are hidden from the Members! Could Hinckley be LY---ING??? I won't answer that!"

I wrote: "I will. Hinckley lied all the time. He was a LIAR and a MANIPULATOR!" (sorry...this is the truth...he lied so bad he'd put Baron Von Munchhausen to shame).

Anyway, some gal emailed me asking for "examples" of where Hinckley has lied, so I send her this email:

Melissa

Just to begin, I am former LDS. I was a convert at 18. I was a missionary. I even wrote a book defending the Church from anti-Mormon attacks ("The Gainsayers"), a favorite for missionaries for 10 years. I resigned from the Church in 1996. I was never excommunicated. Never did anything to "get" excommunicated. I've never committed fornication, nor adultery, nor paedophilia, nor rape, nor murder, nor any homosexual act. I spent (wasted) many years of my life doing research to try to answer all anti-Mormon questions. I was going to call it "Anti-Mormons Answered" and publish it to help depend the Church. A huge book in Bible-paper because it would have 1500 pages in small print. But, the more research I did to defend Joseph Smith and Brigham Young and Mormonism, the more problems I found. I found all sorts of weaknesses in anti-Mormon arguments, but, ultimately, their major points were substantiated.

The facts, if facts mean anything, are that things don't "add" up. The claims of Joseph Smith don't square with the facts. I could list 100 things and 1000 contradictions, and 40 failed prophecies. It just doesn't work. Mormonism cannot stand a close examination, and I've spent tens of thousands of hours closely examining it, NOT to try to prove it false, but to try to prove it TRUE! I did NOT want it to be false! I would have gladly cut my own throat if that would make Mormonism true. Really, at one time I would have done that. However, over many years of pain, depression, and research, I had to come to the only conclusion one could come to after examining all the facts....It Ain't True.

I am now a Daheshist. What is that? There is a link at the bottom that explains what a Daheshist is.

You asked me where Gordon B. Hinckley lied.

First off, I can think of interviews with Mike Wallace on 60 Minutes.

Wallace: "Your Church doesn't get involved in politics does it?"

Hinckley: "Nooooooooo!"

Comment: the Church is extremely involved in Utah politics. Also, the Church helped to defeat the ERA amendment in the 1970s and also got deeply involved in the Prop 8 ballot measure in California, and similar things. Not only Utah politics, but national politcs, as well as politics in other states.

Hinckley was asked on Australia radio why blacks were banned from the priesthood. He replied: "There are reasons for that!"

The interviewer asked "What were the reason?"

Hinckley replied: "I don't know what the reasons were".

He lied. He did know what the reasons were (the Curse of Cain Doctrine).

Hinckley was asked about men becoming Gods, and Hinckley said he didn't know much about that. In fact, he knew everything about that.

During the Mark Hofmann episode, after Mark Hofmann forged many documents and killed two people to hide his forgeries, police asked Hinckley if he secretly bought documents from Hofmann. Hinckley denied it and said he barely knew Hofmann and met him once or twice at most. In fact, Hinckley and Hofmann had met in Hickley's office at least 50 times over a five year period. This was in 1985 and there was nothing wrong with Hinckley's memory at that time.

In another interview with a German interviewer, asked Hinckley why the Church's finances were kept secret. Hinckley replied it was only secret to the public, but not to the contributors (i.e. Church members). He lied. Church financial records ARE secret to all Church members but "The Brethren".

why are Church finances secret? Well, for example, the Brethren don't want Members to know how much they make, from their own Church salaries but also from sitting on Boards of Church owned companies. They attend quarterly meetings (lasting about an hour) and make huge fees from this, every year. Also, for example, the Church is spending 4 BILLION dollars to build City Creek Mall next to Temple Square from Church tithing funds. Ok....do you think the contractors (the ones getting the money for this) are NOT for profit? No, they are for-profit construction companies. Who are the owners? They are "holding companies". Now, who owns the holding companies? We don't know. But, I BET YOU MY ETERNAL SOUL that you'd recognize the names. That FOUR BILLION in tithing money is not going to the poor, as Malachi directed (or the Lord directed via Malachi...so that there is meat in mine house), but to the near-relatives of top Church leaders: sisters brother aunts uncles nephews wives brothers wives etc. AGain, let me reinterate, I have NO PROOF of that. Nobody does. I'm just pointing out that Hinckley "lied" when he said that Church finances are NOT kept secret from those who donate the money (Mormons). They ARE kept secret. Why? You can't ask that question. If you ask it, you'll be hauled before your bishop, and he'll ask YOU questions like "Do you masturbate?" and "Are you associating with apostate groups?" You can't ask such questions...or else! Hinckley lied.

Here is a website I produced some years ago while Hinckley was still alive called: "Gordon B. Hinckley: The Lying "Prophet?"!

It's that's not the right link, I 'll send you the right one. Take care.
