The questions were stupid. What does "acting like a black guy" or "acting like a white guy" mean?
And, putting on the "black face" was ridiculous! Most people probably didn't say anything because they just figured he had weird make up on, and didn't want to embarrass him. He certainly didn't look black.
What a joke!
And the question about "once you go black, you never go back"...Asking about a sexual innuendo to a BYU student? In front of a camera? Really? Even if he did know what it meant, he doesn't know where that camera is going to end up. Does he want his parents viewing that he might be violating the honor code? I don't think so. The kid wants to graduate.
Should Black History month be more recognized? Yes. However, let me also point out that BYU is NOT a state university. It is a PRIVATE university, and, as such, they have the right to make their own rules. Their faculty and administration has the right to decide what holidays to recognize, etc.
