The great contradiction of Mormonism

Post by _SteelHead »

What is it that the church teaches us is so important that a great war was fought over it in the pre existence?

Agency.

So paramount a concept that 1/3 of the host of heaven was cast out so that we can exercise agency.

What is it ultimately that the religion demands on the altar of sacrifice?

Our agency. In the form of us surrendering our ability to choose for ourselves. Now that we have it, god immediately wants it back. But this time as willing self immolates.

Ironic isn't it? It has ceased to be this great eternal gift, but isnstead is to he sacrificed. Why once given are we to esteem it as not? This religion is a theological contradiction.
It is better to be a warrior in a garden, than a gardener at war.

Some of us, on the other hand, actually prefer a religion that includes some type of correlation with reality.
