Most Americans say Arizona Immigration law "just right"

Post by _bcspace »

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-57449309-503544/poll-most-americans-think-arizona-immigration-law-is-about-right/?tag=pop;stories

52%. Add the 11% who don't think the law goes far enough and you're at 63%. Add the fact that this is a CBS poll and sky's the limit.

My solution? No need to go after illegals directly or have mass deportations.

1. Build and enforce a comprehensive fence.
2. Punish businesses and state government entities who hire or benefit illegals.
3. Children born to illegals on American soil do not benefit from automatic citizenship.
4. The pathway to citizenship is to leave the house and come back in through the front door. The naturalization process begins there at the border with a valid permit. I have no problem with legal immigration and neither do most people.

1. A fence around the entire country? That will certainly ruin the view for all those rich peoples' beach houses.

3. Good luck getting the votes to amend the Constitution. (Strange, isn't it, how religious conservatives are constantly trying to change the "inspired, God-given" Constitution? And it's always to take away rights.)

Arizona's SB 1070 is now in the United States Supreme Court's arena. With regards to Arizona's SB 1070, I will agree with whether decision the Supreme Court comes out with regards to this law. I trust this Supreme Court to make the right decision regarding Arizona's SB 1070.

Just curious.

Do you think each state has the right to make its own immigration laws?

I will support the LDS Church on this issue, the Arizona law is not the way to go.
