Why not a happy apocalypse?

Post by _zeezrom »

Why does the timing of the apocalypse depend on horrible events and general evil around the world? Why can't the apocalypse happen when the world is generally in a happy and prosperous state? Christ's coming might be the culmination of celebration. It could be a giant birthday party where people of all walks of life come to sing, dance, and make yummy food. Why does the event have to be associated with death and carnage and ruin?
Oh for shame, how the mortals put the blame on us gods, for they say evils come from us, but it is they, rather, who by their own recklessness win sorrow beyond what is given... Zeus (1178 BC)

I am for that. Tell me when and I will bring the beer.

Beer is strictly prohibited at the Mormon Apocalypse.

That would be post-millennialism. We make the world a better place ready to joyously receive Jesus when he returns to the beautiful commonwealth.

Most people would say Mormons are pre-millennialist apocalyptists. Burn them suckas.

But with the Law of Consecration and the United Order, I think there was a large element of post-millenialism in Mormonism.

Why is it that the nice parts of Mormonism went by the wayside?

I think that went by the wayside long ago when it was revealed that we are all going to burn including them Mormons. Barbeque anyone? Pretty much imagine the Earth plunging into the Sun and you get the picture. CRISPY!!!

I had to re-edit because I totally screwed up my pre's and post's.

I think I have them right now.

But then again, maybe not.

Sorry.

Zeezrom, I think you are right.

It will be happy.
Folks anticipating crispy retribution will be disappointed. Most of them will get over their disappointment. Those who do not may satisfy their lust for barbeque on themselves.
