Joseph Smith: The Mr. Bean of religions.

Post by _DarkHelmet »

I recently was flipping through channels and watched a scene from the movie Bean. In the movie, Mr Bean comes across the original painting Whistler's Mother.

Through a series of mishaps, Mr. Bean accidentally erases the head off of the painting.

He then attempts to fix the problem.

I was immediately reminded of the Book of Abraham papyri. It was also missing a head.

And Joseph Smith attempted to fix it with similarly hilarious results.

At least Mr. Bean doesn't pretend to be anything other than an idiot.

It was interesting to see that before the papyri was found that the problems with fac 1 where exactly the parts that were missing.
