BCSpace is badly misrepresenting the data by borrowing a popular deceptive claim among the religious right, but saying gays are disproportionately pedophiles is not the same as saying that any individual pedophile (which we have no evidence Smith was) is gay.

At least you're intellectually honest. But the claim I've made is based in science, many of the references I gave have nothing to do with the religious "right" and even if they were, so what? Many claims to the contrary are similarly biased by the same logic.

The claim you are making itself comes from religious right sources that misrepresent the data, and all the citations I've seen on the topic from you are secondary source links from religious right primary sources. In the link I just clicked above, what you cited was a religious right source referencing a "study" by another religious right source. In it, it references other academic studies which I guess is what you imagine your references to be, even though that's not how sourcing works. Incidentally, one such study that it misrepresented was done by Dr. Groth.

As one of my links points out, Dr. Groth responded to it as follows:

He's saying gays are heavily disproportionately predisposed to being pedophiles. It's a false and bigoted claim, sure, but it doesn't lead to the conclusion you want. The fact that he's allowing for the majority of pedophiles to not be homosexuals should be enough to see the error of your reasoning.
