The {Bill and Melinda Gates} Foundation’s achievements are undoubtedly impressive. Through supporting vaccination programmes, for example, it claims to have saved nearly six million lives. With rich world enthusiasm for foreign aid wavering, on 26 January this year Gates committed a further $750 million to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria – an organization he claims saves 100,000 lives a month. Admirers credit the Foundation with putting global health back on world leaders’ agendas and, through Gates’ Giving Pledge initiative, encouraging several other US multi-billionaires to pledge their wealth to charity.
In 2010, the Foundation gave $2.5 billion in grants – 80 per cent to international projects. In total it has disbursed over $26 billion, most of it to global health.
What’s not to like?

Unlike Mormons who received little or nothing of value for their donations to the LDS Church, the people who purchased the Microsoft products, this providing the money that made Bill Gates' philanthropy possible, received a great deal of value in return.
Unlike Mormonism, pretty much everyone on the planet uses and/or benefits from Microsoft products every day.

Bill Gates has certainty done a lot of good on some fronts. But he is totally blowing it by getting in bed with Monsanto. He is not quite as smart as many would like to think.
He is an evil liberal who donates money for AIDS research, rather than letting the gays die. He said he wants to give away all his wealth before he dies. He has already given away a huge chunk of it, and challenged other billionaires to do the same. I chuckled when I read that he wants his kids to make it on their own by only giving them $10 million each. Yep, that will humble them.
