Romney must bear his testimony in his convention speech.

Post by _krose »

The Brethren have always told us that it is our duty to take every opportunity available to convert people to the One True Church. They set the example by discussing the church with cab drivers and people next to them on airplanes.

So if Brother Romney is taking his religion seriously, and is truly proud of it, he must take full advantage of this great opportunity to spread the gospel. Tonight he will be speaking in front of millions of people, so many more than he could have reached during his mission time in France.

He is behind in the polls, so chances are good that he will never have a bigger audience, and a better opportunity to testify to the Truth of Mormonism than this one. I want to see him testify that Joseph Smith was a prophet, that Thomas Monson is one today, and that his is the only true church.

As a good member-missionary, and the highest-profile Mormon in the world, he must do this. Huckabee would do it for his religion. In fact, he pretty much did exactly that last night. He set the example. He is obviously proud of his faith.

Gird up your loins, Brother Mitt! Take courage... and get out there and testify!!

That would be so freaking funny if he did that. It would be best to close his speech with his testimony, maybe hold up a Book of Mormon and make his voice crack with crocodile tears for effect. It would be perhaps the most epic moment in the history of Mormonism, and in the history convention speeches.

Somehow I think it is all going to be about God, Jesus, family, and taking cookies to widows when he was a bishop (or whatever his specialty was in that particular role). Mormonism is, for public relations purpose, just another homegrown protestant sect, remember.

I wonder whether he will mention Joseph Smith, the First Vision, the Golden Plates, the Book of Mormon, the Nephites or polygamy at all?

I'm thinking he'll start with...

Ok, that made me laugh audibly.

Loud laughter is not an approved message of the Romney campaign...

It would be entirely appropriate to inform people of the importance of America as a chosen land above all others, and illustrate this with some stories of the Nephites and Lamanites, to show what happens when we turn away from the One True Gospel.

And he should tell the nation how the Lord raised up the founding fathers specifically to prepare the way for Joseph and the restoration.
