Your favorite Rodin

Post by _Morley »

The Google machine is celebrating Rodin's 172nd birthday. Please show your favorite Rodin work here. Mine is The Gates of Hell. I don't think any two-dimensional image has the impact of the original. But here it is, anyway.

Rodin's Gates of Hell is amazing.

My daughter saw a copy of The Thinker, from Gates of Hell, this last summer and was facinated by it. She kept asking me who it was and wanted to know more about it. You know an artist is doing something right when it captures the imagination of the young that way.

Do you happen to know if there is any truth to the story that George Bernard Shaw modeled for The Thinker?
